AGM - 13 June 2019

West Lothian Grapevine Twinning Association held its AGM on Thursday 13 June 2019. Chairman Harry Cartmill stood down and Charles Kennedy was elected Chair, with Harry Cartmill as Vice Chair. Jacqui Kerr continues as Secretary. John Aitken stood down after 8 years as Treasurer and was replaced by David Tait.

In 2020 a delegation from the Association will visit Grapevine, the Gallagher Cup golf match will be in Texas and Linlithgow academy plans to send a delegation to Grapevine in October.

Linlithgow Academy hosts Colleyville Heritage High School - June 2019

A group of pupils from Collreyville Heritage High School visited West Lothian in June 2019 as part of a long-running prorgamme of exchanges between CHHS and Linlithgow Academy. Pupils from Linlithgow plan to vist Grapevine in October 2020.

Fundraising Dinner - 2 May 2019

We held a very successful Fundraising Dinner in the Terrace Restaurant at West Lothian College, Livingston on Thursday 2 May 2019 and raised £857 for our funds. An excellent meal, prepared and served by West Lothian College students, was followed by a raffle, auction and an entertaining talk by Mike Wheatley. Chamber music was provided by pupils from Linlithgow Academy.

January 2019 - Informal Visit by Councillor Charles Kennedy

Councillor Charles Kennedy visited Grapevine in January 2019 and took part in a number of business meetings and events, including reciting Holy Willy's Prayer at the first Grapevine CVB Burns Supper. <More>

Tenth Anniversary: 2008 to 2018

The Visiting Grapevine City Delegation, Theatre Group and West Lothian Hosts

A delegation from Grapevine visited West Lothian in July/August 2018 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Accord between West Lothian and Grapevine. It included an official delegation of 11 from the City of Grapevine, headed by Councilwoman Sharon Rogers, deputising for Mayor William Tate, who was unable to come for medical reasons. The Council delegation was joined by a group of seven young musical theatre students from Grapevine High School with thier teacher and other supporters. They performed on every occasion during the visit and were excellent ambassadors for the young people of Grapevine.

West Lothian's twinning with Grapevine Texas was established in 2008 so, in 2018 we are celebrating ten years of friendship and exchange visits between people of all ages and interests in the two communities. <More>

In September a team of young golfers from West Lothian visited Grapevine for the annual Gallagher Cup match, which alternates between Texas and West Lothian. The trophy was narrowly won by Grapevine.

Also in September, a group of nine secondary school pupils form Linlithgow Academy, supported by two teachers, visited Colleyville Heritage High School, near Grapevine as part of a programme of exchanges between the two schools. <More>
